The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute invites you to participate in the project of the National Science Center OPUS14 / 2017 "Turbulent flow analysis with the dispersion phase - the impact of two-sided coupling of momentum and gravity on particle motion statistics". The graduate's employment is planned for a period of 10 months on the terms of the mandate contract. The amount of remuneration will be PLN 2,000 gross per month.
Description of works
As part of the project, simulations of turbulent flows will be carried out using a massively parallelized numerical code. The master's tasks will include help in calculations on high-power computers, participation in the development of the algorithm and numerical procedures to better describe the physical phenomenon (interaction between phases, the effect of gravity, collisions of particles).
A candidate who can:
1. is a second-cycle student or a student of at least the fourth year of MA studies in technical fields (mathematics, physics, computer science and related fields),
2. has basic programming skills in a high-level language (Fortran or C); experience in parallel programming and conducting calculations on high power computers will be an advantage,
3. has basic knowledge in the field of numerical fluid mechanics,
4. speaks English and Polish,
5. declares willingness to prepare a master's thesis related to the subject of the project under the supervision of one of the team members.
