As an increasing number of projects are being developed and connected to the grid, Poland's solar landscape has been growing significantly in recent years. Currently, over 6 GW of cumulative solar capacity has been installed in the country.
This growth is expected to accelerate over the course of this decade and will push the Polish PV market towards 30 GW of operational capacity by 2030, according to the Polish research institute Instytut Energetyki Odnawialnej (IEO). In 2022 alone, the growth forecasts see Poland's PV capacity grow from 6.3 GW to 10 GW by year's end, despite an expected market contraction in the distributed solar generation segment.
Aided by an attractive support scheme - expected to last until 2026 - Poland has fostered an active solar PV market. As such, Poland has been seeing an increasing amount of mergers and acquisitions and PPA transactions around large-scale projects.
In this white paper, we present an overview of some of the major solar deals signed in 2021 and early 2022, which provides an interesting picture of some of the most prolific players and impactful trends in the market. Download the white paper here.
