Head of the Functional Materials Laboratory

JOB DESCRIPTION

The person employed in this position will manage the Laboratory, where research works related to obtaining crystalline materials will be carried out, dedicated to applications in photonics and electronics.

MAIN TASKS

• Coordination, supervision and control of ongoing works in the Laboratory
• Management of the Laboratory area, including the development and implementation of procedures and processes to ensure the highest quality standards for research
• Implementation and realization of research projects, analyzing the results achieved
• Active participation in the preparation of applications for funding as part of the subject matter carried out in the Laboratory
• Active participation in disseminating research results (participation in publications and conference presentations)
• Active participation in the commercialization of the achieved research results (implementation of technology, protection of intellectual property)
• Monitoring the functioning of research and scientific equipment, including compliance with maintenance deadlines
• Supervision and correction of any irregularities in the operation of test equipment
• Organization of service and supply of consumables
• Conducting training courses for employees on the use of research equipment
• Providing substantive and procedural support to members of the research team
• Conducting constant supervision over compliance with occupational health and safety, fire and other regulations related to work safety
• Taking care of reliable and timely implementation of research works
• Keeping the necessary documentation and correspondence

REQUIREMENTS

• Higher education (majors: materials engineering, chemistry, physics or related)
• At least 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of experience in a managerial position or in managing R&D works
• Participation in at least 5 research projects thematically related to the receipt of materials
• Experience in obtaining grants for research and development works
• Experience in obtaining crystalline functional materials
• Knowledge of the operation of research equipment, especially crystallization devices
• Planning skills, very good organization of work and cooperation in a team
• The ability to creatively solve problems in various fields related to the functioning of the laboratory,
• The ability to disseminate research results
• Basic knowledge of intellectual property law
• Ability to develop processes and documentation in the laboratory
• Knowledge of project management methods, including R&D works
• Knowledge of the use of specialized research equipment
• Good computer skills with the Ms. Office
