Controls & automation engineer

We are currently looking for a Gas Turbine Controls & Automation Engineer to join GE’s global controls organization at the Engineering Design Center in Warsaw. In this role, you will participate in critical phases of Gas Turbine systems integration, controls system design and software development for Gas Turbine systems. Your work will contribute to decarbonizing the future of power generation by driving the efficient operation our installed base across the globe.

• Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems, and systems.
• Develop comprehensive requirements for gas turbine features and components.
• Participate/Lead critical phases of controls system and software development for gas turbines projects.
• Develop and execute test cases for new or existing gas turbine control features.
• Contribute to and implement Controls Design Practices.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
• Provide technical support to our customers.
• Maintain control of safety, human factors and serviceability aspects as controls and turbine designs change.
• Occasionally travel to site to support product testing and/or customer issues.

• Bachelor's Degree in Control or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years controls software development experience with industrial controllers.
• Fluent in English.
• Team player with good communication and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in controls engineering, software development, test, and software release processes under challenging time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to execute in a global team environment.
• Master's Degree in Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with GE MarkVIe controller and ControlST Toolbox system.
• Experience with Cimplicity HMI software.
• Experience with Gas Turbine control systems.
• Gas Turbine industry experience, mostly in controls systems.
• Knowledge of industrial network protocols such as Profibus, Modbus, EGD, etc.
